Art craftsmanship: the HERVET workshop in Paris
HERVET MANUFACTURER specializes in the artisanal production of furniture and luxury goods made with ancient techniques. The workshop was founded in 2014 by two cousins Nicolas and Cédric Hervet. Nicolas has received numerous awards for his work with wood, marquetry and his sculptor practice. He collaborated with several furniture manufacturers before launching his own studio. For his part, Cédric graduated from the art school Boulle in Paris. He also made electronic music and was the creative director of Daft Punk! He was also part of the team behind the realization of Logorama as much as a visual artist. The career paths of the two are quite different, their passion for design brings them together. It is also thanks to this that HERVET is a unique design company that has no equivalent.
A workshop and a gallery
In 2014, the adventure begins. With their ideas in mind, they begin to make furniture originally created in their workshop suggested by their personal tastes. They now make a limited collection of luxury furniture using traditional methods reflecting the technique of the cabinetmaking . The cabinetmaker worked primarily ebony - a kind of popular wood, which was known in the manufacture of Parisian cabinets in the mid-seventeenth century, where cabinetmakers are known for the manufacture of indoor furniture (cupboards , storage cabinets, chests of drawers and others) are often handmade in teak and decorated with copper and metal details for the corners to protect them. Nicolas and Cédric are inspired by ancient techniques but always with a contemporary touch!
The pieces designed by the two cousins are inspired by the geometry of architecture and modern design. Each model is made in France with materials of the highest quality. Always in small quantity and of high quality! Their current collection includes: desk, showcase, TV stand, pencil box, yoyo and skateboards.
