The Italian shower is a modern solution that easily fits all bathrooms and offers many benefits to their owners.
It can be easily integrated even in very small bathrooms and it exists in several variants: completely open, semi-open or closed. Sometimes called "walk-in shower", it is accessible and functional for all family members: children, parents and seniors. Provided you have proper tile or grating, this shower can be used safely by people of all ages.

Designers love to work with showers of this type because they fit very well in all kinds of interior, large or small, contemporary or vintage. Moreover, the Italian shower is not a jewel reserved only for owners of apartments and modern houses. With some remodeling work, it can be adapted to older interiors thanks to specific kits and flat trays. From the point of view of maintenance, the open shower is very easy to clean, especially if it is completely open. Given all these features, we quickly understand why this shower has become so popular among the French!

When we talk about the installation of a bathroom with Italian shower, we often dwell on the question of the choice of the wall and the types of receivers. We know it: the Italian shower is characterized by its siphon recessed and a slightly sloping floor, designed to facilitate the flow of water. This space also has a specific receiver that is "invisible" because it is embedded in the floor and, most often, tiled. But nowadays, there are also ready-to-install receivers, made of modern materials, which are extra-thin and can be accommodated in the flooring of a shower of this type. As for the walls, the owners can do without them completely or choose a model of semi-open shower with glass wall or with a solid wall. But what about faucets? Are there any rules to respect or absolutely avoid to get a bathroom with a "real" Italian shower ? Should we prefer a kind of mixer or shower rather than others? So many questions that owners often ask themselves and that we will consider in the following paragraphs.

For many experts in bathroom interior design, the real Italian shower must have a built-in faucet. In fact, it is seen as contributing to the authentic appearance of the shower evoking associations with its past dating back to the Roman Empire. But today, a large number of homeowners are also seduced by other solutions that are distinguished by a more modern air. And this is a trend that is not surprising. Because, remember, the Italian shower is very adaptable and has long conquered bathrooms modern style. So, it also opens to shower columns and other chic accessories and current.

Mixer faucets and built-in mixers are therefore preferred by designers for their authentic look. However, today you can purchase practical and functional mixers, equipped with a thermostat, hydromassage systems or that allow you to save water. The latter option is also recommended for Italian showers because they usually have a high water consumption. As for the shower head, it also exists in very interesting versions: luminous, with "rain" effect and, of course, in very varied shapes and materials!

The shower column, for its part, includes several elements, such as the mixer tap, a shower head and a hand shower. Some columns also have accessories for hydromassage that contribute to the well-being and relaxation of their users through a spa effect. However, these columns are known to have a significant flow of water: they are therefore to be avoided by those who have a fully open Italian shower. As for the look they bring to the bathroom, the columns are considered a very aesthetic and modern solution.
