Loft and workshop: The Tire Shop is an old tire garage built in 1920 in Verdun, Montreal
As its name suggests, the Tire Shop was initially a tire garage built in Verdun in 1920. Almost a century later, in 2010, the creative studio MARK + VIVI (formed by the couple Mark Fekete and Viviana de Loera) transformed this structure into a small house and an art gallery. On the ground floor are the dining room and the kitchen that can be converted into an art gallery thanks to the white walls and the beautiful window that overlooks the street. Upstairs are the more intimate spaces: the bedroom and the bathroom. This loft design incorporates several traditional industrial materials to create a conceptual, efficient and sustainable space with stylized contemporary touches. The recovery and reuse of old materials is one of the key elements in the design of this space. The two creators, Mark and Vivi, create projects of modern design, conscious and ecological.
